Josh Raaz Earns Honorable Mentional Football Gazette All-America
Honors
Senior guard Josh Raaz (Columbia, Mo./Rock Bridge) was selected to the Don Hansen Football Gazette honorable mention All-America team this month.
Raaz, a second-team Daktronics all-region choice, was also a first-team all-Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association selection this year after helping the Truman offense produce a league high of 3,097 passing yards in 2000 as the only senior starter on offense. He protected Truman quarterback Eric Howe as he threw for the third-most single season yards in MIAA history, after helping Howe to the second best total in conference history a year ago.
Raaz consistently graded the highest among the Truman offensive linemen this year and started every contest at left guard.
He was named the Truman coaches offensive lineman of the week four times. Raaz led the Truman offensive line as it cleared the way for 281.5 yards a game passing and 411.7 yards per game of total offense this year. He was chosen by his teammates as a 2000 captain. Raaz played in 32 career games and was an honorable mention all-conference pick last year.
The Bulldogs finished the season with a 6-4 overall record and were 5-4 in the MIAA, tying for fourth.
