Missouri Southern-68, Truman-47
Missouri Southern jumped out to a 9-0 lead and never looked back as they defeated Truman by a 68-47 score on Tuesday night in the MIAA opener for both teams.
The Lions won with their defense, holding Truman to just 25.0% shooting from the field for the night and keeping the Bulldogs' leading scorer from making a field goal. The Lions led by 14 at halftime with a 32-18 advantage and never let Truman get closer than 13 in the final half.
Missouri Southern was led by Wyketha Harrell who had a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Three other Lions were in double-figures as Katie Deen scored 16, Aubrie Hallman put in 15 points and Carol Koenig chipped in with 14. Koenig had a team-high six assists and Hallman led the Lions with three steals.
Truman was led by Jamie Huffman who scored 15 points, 11 coming from the free throw line where she was 11-of-14 for the game. Kelli Floyd added nine points and Adri Tromp had seven points and a team-high 10 boards.

Truman-79, Missouri Southern-76
The Bulldogs had their best shooting night of the season as they hit 51.1% of their shots from the field and 73% from the free throw line in a 79-76 win over Missouri Southern in the conference opener for both teams.
Truman held the Lions scoreless over the final 2:55 of the game which enabled them to comeback from a 76-74 deficit. Andy Calmes hit a free throw to get the Bulldogs within one, but missed the second shot. Derek Lindsey tipped the ball out for the offensive rebound and later in the possesion Lindsey found Grant Agbo for a layup to give the Bulldogs the lead for good. Missouri Southern missed three field goal attempts and two free throws in the final 1:15 as they could not tie or take the lead in the game.
Truman was led by Agbo who had 22 points on the night, hitting seven-of-10 from the field and eight-of-11 from the free throw line. Andy Calmes was also in double-figures with 11 points and led the team with four assists. Ryan Welker had a team-high seven rebounds, helping the Bulldogs outrebound Missouri Southern by a 35-24 margin.
Missouri Southern was led in scoring by Deon Rose and Ameer Watts, both with 19 points. Hiram Ocasio was in double-figures with 10 points.
