Truman: The Bulldogs enter Saturday's game at Drury with a 1-2 record on the season. Truman picked up its initial win of the 2000-01 campaign on Monday with a 92-59 triumph over Hannibal-LaGrange. Truman dropped its first two contests of the season, a 78-69 home loss to Lincoln on Nov. 21 and a 70-59 season-opening decision at Division I Southeast Missouri State. The 'Dogs will be looking for their first road win of the season, but have just one road win over the Panthers in the series.

In their first three games, the 'Dogs have made their presence felt on the glass, out-rebounding both HLG and Southeast Missouri. Truman averages 42.3 rebounds per game and is holding its opponents to an average of 35.0 boards for a margin of +7.3 rebounds per game.

Senior forward Brian Brown (Centralia, Mo.) is currently averaging a double-double, with team-highs of 20 points and 10 rebounds per game. He is joined in double-figure scoring by senior guard Mike Peterson (Mason City, Iowa) (10.7 ppg) and junior forward Scott Coykendall (Elmwood, Ill./Spoon River JC) (10.3 ppg).

Truman vs. Hannibal-LaGrange: The Bulldogs out-rebounded Hannibal-LaGrange by a 46-27 margin and shot 54.2 percent from the field in a 92-59 victory over the Trojans on Monday night.

Coykendall led all scorers with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. Peterson and Brown added 15 and 14 points, respectively, while freshman forward Matt Beran (Victor, Iowa/HLV-Victor) charted his first collegiate double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to go with three blocked shots.

Brown led the Bulldog charge on the glass, hauling in 11 caroms while adding a team-best three steals.

The score was tied at 21 apiece with 8:49 to play in the first half. But Truman outscored HLG 25-12 over the remainder of the half for a 46-33 halftime lead. Over the first six minutes of the second half, the 'Dogs put together a 14-1 run to pull comfortably in front.

About Drury: The Panthers take a 3-2 record into tonight's home game with Arkansas Tech. Both of Drury's losses have come on the road (73-57 to Emporia State and 93-55 to Pittsburg State). However, the team has won each of its home games (86-83 over Nebraska-Kearney, 88-63 over Hannibal-LaGrange and 81-74 over Southwest Baptist) and has taken victories in 23 consecutive home games, dating back to Jan. 11, 1999.

The Panthers have four players averaging double figures, led by junior guard Matt Miller at 19 points a game. Miller is shooting 35.3 percent (12-of-34) from the three-point line and is a perfect 25-of-25 at the foul stripe. He had 26 points in the win over SBU and another 24 in the win over HLG.

Junior guard Ke'Lan Mitchell (11.0 ppg), junior forward Brandon Morris (10.4 ppg) and senior center Shon Eilenstein (10.0 ppg) also average double digits for the Panthers. Mitchell had a team season-high 28 points on 10-of-11 shooting in the victory over UNK. He also leads the squad with 21 assists and is tied with Morris for the lead in steals (9). Eilenstein, who is shooting 72.4 percent from the field (21-of-29), leads the team in rebounding, pulling in an average of 6.6 per game.

Series Record: Drury leads 5-2 ... Last year, the Panthers stopped Truman's season-opening seven-game winning streak with an 85-76 win over the 'Dogs at Pershing Arena. Mike Peterson had 13 points in that game, but the 'Dogs were led by Cory Parker's 28 points and 10 rebounds. Games between these two are almost always close -- only one contest involving Truman and Drury has been decided by more than 10 points ... The Bulldogs' only wins in the series came in 1923 at Drury and at home in 1997.

Coaches records: Bulldog head coach Jack Schrader is in his sixth season at Truman and has a record of 74-69 for a winning percentage of .518.

Gary Stanfield is in his 10th year as Drury's head coach. He has an overall college career record of 175-87 (.667).

Injury Report: Truman sophomore center Adam Glosier (St. Charles, Mo./U.S. Military Academy) is out indefinitely with a knee injury.

Bulldogs Among Career Leaders: Brown is quickly gaining ground on both the Bulldog career scoring and rebounding charts. He surpassed the 900-point plateau on Monday night and now has 904 career points. He needs 96 more points to become the 18th member of Truman's 1,000-point club and 113 points to tie Steve Liford for 17th on the all-time scoring list.

Brown also needs just seven more rebounds to eclipse the 400-rebound mark. With 393 career boards, he is 21 away from Johnnie Wesley, who stands 24th in career rebounds.

Peterson is closing in on the 700-point plateau, as he now has 663 career points. He currently ranks sixth in career three-pointers, and needs 43 more triples to catch fifth place, Jason Ramthun.

Brown and Peterson both rank in the top 20 for career free throws. Brown, currently 12th with 212 charity tosses made, is only four away from joining the top 10 on that list. Peterson has 156 career free throws made and ranks 20th.

Bulldogs in the MIAA: Truman ranks second in the MIAA in rebounding offense, averaging 42.3 rebounds per game. The 'Dogs are also third in the conference in rebounding margin (+7.3) and defensive rebounds (28.67). They are fourth in the league in assist-turnover ratio (1.13) and scoring defense (69.0).

Individually, Brown is fourth in the league in scoring (20.0 ppg) and No. 2 in rebounding (10.0 rpg). He's also sixth in field goal percentage (.564).

Peterson is eighth in the league in steals (2.00 per game), ninth in three-point field goal percentage (.312) and tied for ninth in three-pointers made per game (1.67).

Beran is tied for seventh in blocked shots (1.00 bpg) and tied for 13th in rebounding (6.0 rpg).
