Men's And Women's Basketball Teams Add Transfers
Two new players have joined the men's and women's basketball teams, head coaches Jack Schrader and John Sloop announced today.
The men's team has added sophomore center Adam Glosier, who has transferred to Truman after spending last year in West Point, N.Y. as a starter for Army. The 6-8 and 250-pound Glosier started all of the Black Knights' 28 games in 1999-2000, averaging 4.7 points and 6.4 rebounds. He shot 37 percent from the field, averaged 1.5 steals per game and recorded 17 assists and 15 blocked shots. Glosier is from St. Charles, Mo. and attended St. Charles West High School.
Sloop announced that the women's team has added transfer Keagan Thalin, a sophomore with freshman eligibility from Glenview, Ill. Thalin attended Texas Christian University last year, but didn't play basketball. A point/off guard, she averaged 13 points, five rebounds, six assists and three steals per game as a senior at Glenbrook South High School. She was named first-team all-conference, team MVP and honorable mention all-area. Thalin was a four-year honor student in high school and was on the dean's list at TCU in each of her two semesters at the school.
The Truman men are coming off of their third straight winning season, posting a 16-11 overall record in 1999-2000. Truman also made its fourth consecutive appearance in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association postseason tournament. Schrader has just completed his fifth year at Truman and has compiled a record of 73-67 (.521), including 42-18 (.700) over the last two seasons.
The 1999-2000 Truman women's team posted a 17-9 record and hosted their first MIAA postseason tournament game after going 12-6 in league action.
