Truman Men's Cross Country Finishes 14th at Nationals

The Truman State University men's cross country team, finished 14th at the NCAA national championships last weekend in Ashland, Ohio.

Matt Helbig led the team with a 26th-place finish, completing the 10,000m course in a time of 32:12, improving over a minute from his time at the South Central Regional meet two weeks before. Alan Heincker finished in 81st-place with a mark of 33:18 and Pat Boyle was 85th with a mark of 33:20, his best team showing of the year.

Andy Person finished the race in a time of 33:46 for a 112th-place finish. Brad Peter was 119th completing the race in 33:56. Mike Nelson and Aaron Wells rounded out the Bulldog runners as Nelson finished 124th with a time of 34:03 and Wells was 149th with a time of 34:40.

The Bulldogs finished up with a successful season, finishing second at the MIAA meet, missing first-place by just one lone point, and finishing third at the NCAA South Central Regionals. Truman's race on Saturday was its third straight in the NCAA Championships.
