Bulldog Athletes Receive Three MIAA Athlete of the Week Awards
For the second straight week, Truman athletes received three player of the week awards from the conference. Alan Heincker was named the male cross country runner of the week. Volleyball player Tiffany Graham was named the Wilson/MIAA hitter of the week. And, women's soccer player Lauren Davis was named the MIAA goalkeeper of the week for the second straight time.
MIAA Cross Country Male Athlete of the Week: Alan Heincker
Heincker, a 6-foot-1, 150-pound senior from Dittmer, Mo., placed third in
the Iowa State Open last Friday (Sept. 12). He completed the 8-kilometer
course in a time of 25 minutes, 45 seconds, finishing ahead of all Division
I runners in the field. Heincker is a graduate of Grandview (Mo.) High School.
Wilson/MIAA Volleyball Hitter of the Week: Tiffany Graham
Graham, a 6-foot-0 sophomore from Holden, Mo., hit .422 (33 kills, 6 errors,
64 attempts) and averaged 4.71 kills, 1.43 blocks and 0.71 service aces
per game as the No. 9 Bulldogs won three matches at the Central Missouri
Challenge last weekend. Playing in two games of a 3-0 in over Alabama-Huntsville,
she hit .636 (8-1-11) and had three aces, three blocks (one solo) and 2
digs. In a 3-0 sweep of Harding (Ark.), she hit .423 (13-2-26) with five
digs and five block assists in two games. She helped avoid a fourth game
by getting three kills with the Bison at game point, helping the Bulldogs
rally for a 35-33 victory. She hit .333 (12-3-27) with two aces, two blocks
(one solo) and two digs in three games as Truman swept Henderson (Ark.)
State. Graham is a graduate of Holden High School.
MIAA Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week: Lauren Davis
Davis, a 5-foot-9 freshman from Springfield, Mo., went 2-0 on the week with
a 0.50 GAA for the No. 12 ranked Bulldogs. She faced 12 shots and made three
saves while allowing one goal in a 3-1 win at Winona (Minn.) State Friday
(Sept. 12). In a 7-0 MIAA win over Washburn Sunday (Sept. 14), Davis saved
both shots she faced and posted her second shutout of the season. She is
a graduate of Kickapoo High School.
