Eli Klimek Leads The Bulldogs At The Border States Invitational

The Men's Cross Country team finished in 8th place at the Border Wars Invitational hosted by Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville on Saturday. Truman finished second in a race between Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics conference schools, behind Emporia St. (Kan.).

Truman had 205 points, while the Hornets finished in 5th place with 176. Rend Lake (Ill.) College was the overall men's team winner with a 77 point total.

Junior Eli Klimek (Platte City, Mo./Platte County) was once again the top placer for the Bulldogs on the 8,000 meter course. Klimek finished in 10th place out of 273 runners with a time of 25:57.68. Junior Aaron Wells (Runnells, Iowa/Southeast Polk) finished in 29th place, while sophomore Jason Simpson (Liberty, Mo./Liberty) was in 43rd.

The Bulldogs next action will the MIAA Championships in Maryville, Mo. on Oct. 23.
