Men's Cross Country Takes First At Bob Timmons Invitational
Two Truman runners placed in the top five on Saturday as the Bulldog men's cross country team placed first out of four teams at the University of Kansas-Bob Timmons Invitational at Rim Rock Farm in Lawrence, Kan.
Truman junior Andy Doering (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) was the top overall finisher, turning in a time of 25:54.46 for the 8,000-meter course. Junior Ben Rosario (St. Louis/SLUH) placed fifth overall in 26:23.69. Junior Matt Helbig (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) added a top-10 finish, finishing 10th with a time of 26:44.52.
In all, the Bulldogs finished with a score of 36 to top second-place Wichita State University (Kan.) by 15. The University of Kansas was third with 57, followed by the University of Oklahoma with 81.
Up next, the Bulldogs will travel to another Big XII school, this time at the University of Nebraska, where they'll compete in the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational on Saturday.
