Men's Cross Country Wins Fourth Meet of the Year

For the fourth time in as many meets this season, the Truman men's cross country team brought home a first-place team finish, this time at the Miner Invitational in Rolla, Mo.

The Bulldogs finished with a score of 30 points, compared to the 44 posted by second-place Missouri-Rolla. Several of Truman's top runners did not compete in the meet, but many others gave a solid contribution.

Leading the 'Dogs was sophomore Pat Boyle (St. Charles, Mo.), who placed fourth overall with a time of 27:21.7. Sophomores Mike Nelson (Fenton, Mo./Northwest) and Brad Peter (Arnold's Park, Iowa/Okoboji) finished seventh and eighth in 27:30.6 and 27:54.2, respectively. Sophomore Dan Boyle (St. Charles, Mo.) also collected a top 10 finish, placing 10th in 28:04.7. He was followed by freshman Ted Snodgrass (St. Louis, Mo./SLUH), who finished in 28:11.0, good enough for 11th.

The Truman men will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 6 in South Bend, Ind. at the Notre Dame Invitational.
