Men's Cross Country Takes First at Nebraska Meet

The 15th-ranked Truman State University men's cross country team took first out of 26 teams on Saturday at the Woody Greeno/Nebraska Invitational in Lincoln.

Senior Andy Doering (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) led four Bulldog finishers in the top 30 as he collected an eighth-place finish overall and second in the College Division with a time of 25:33.20. It marked Doering's third consecutive top 10 finish at the race.

Senior Ben Rosario (St. Louis/SLUH) finished 14th overall and sixth in the division with a time of 25:51.90, and was followed by sophomore Alan Heincker (Dittmer, Mo./Grandview) in 20th (eighth in the division ) with a time of 26:05.90. Senior Brian McQueary (St. Louis/St. Mary's) was 30th overall and 13th in the division in 26:32.50.

In all, the Bulldog men charted 57 points to edge second-place Central Missouri State by one. Nebraska Wesleyan was third with 139 points.

The Truman men are slated to be off this weekend before competing next at the University of Missouri-Rolla Miner Invitational on Sept. 29.
