Truman Men Take Third at Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships; Doering Qualifies for National Meet

The Truman State University men's cross country team placed third on Saturday (Nov. 6) at the 1999 Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships to wrap up the season. However, sophomore Andy Doering (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) still has work ahead of him as he qualified as an individual for the 1999 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships on Nov. 20 in Joplin, Mo.

Doering made the national cut by virtue of a seventh-place finish in the regional meet with a time of 32:31.6 over the 10,000 meter course.

Sophomore Ben Rosario (St. Louis/SLUH) finished in ninth-place in 32:40.8 to account for the Bulldogs among the top 10 at regionals.

The top two teams qualified for the national meet which were Central Missouri, the regional champion, and Lewis University, the runner-up.
