Truman Men's Cross Country Results-Sept. 4, 1999
The Truman State University men's cross country team took first-place of four teams at the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville meet this morning. The Bulldogs scored 20 points in the 8,000 meter run, 18 points lower than their closest competitor, Washington University (St. Louis). Conference foe Missouri-Rolla scored 91 points, while the host SIUE was last with 97 points.
The top finisher for the Truman men was junior Nick Blackburn (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell South) who was second with a time of 26:33.1. However, the Bulldogs had the third through the sixth spots taken as well with sophomore Andy Doering (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) running a 26:34, sophomore Ben Rosario (St. Louis/SLUH) ran a 26:50.6, sophomore Matt Helbig (Fenton, Mo./Rockwood Summit) ran a 26:58.1 and sophomore Mark DeBold (St. Charles, Ill./Lincoln Way) ran a 27:11.2. Truman also had three other individuals in the top 20.
