Men's Golf Comes In Sixth at the Central Regional Invitational
The Bulldog men's golf team took on several teams in their region on Monday and Tuesday at the Central Regional Invitational in Leawood, Kan. Truman finished sixth out of 12 teams at the event, which was won by MIAA rival Missouri Southern.
Jason Bertram (Manchester, Mo./Parkway South) and Austin George (Wichita, Kan./Andover) led the team by both tying for 13th-place. Both players shot identical scores of 77-78=155.
The other three Bulldog golfers, Jesse Helms (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro), Jake Mann (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth) and Brett Meeske (Moline, Ill./Moline), all tied for 37th overall with scores of 165.
Truman will be in action again next Tuesday and Wednesday at the MIAA Championship in Lawrence, Kan. Following that event, the team will learn if it earns a berth into the NCAA Super Regional. The top eight teams in the region make the event and the Bulldogs were ranked fifth in the latest regional poll.
