Men's Golf Ends Fall Season At Drury Invitational

The Truman men's golf team ended its fall season on Tuesday with a tie for 17th place at the Drury Invitational.

Junior Jason Bertram (Manchester, Mo./Parkway South) led the team for the third time in four tournaments, and finished tied for 37th overall after carding a 75-82=157. Senior Brett Meeske (Moline, Ill./Moline) tied for 56th place with a 82-78=160. Freshman Jesse Helms (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro) shot rounds of 80 and 82 and his 162 tied him for 66th. Rounding out the squad were junior Austin George (Wichita, Kan./Andover) and senior Jake Mann (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth). George was 94th with a 88-82=170 and Mann tied for 103rd with a 88-91=179.

Truman's fall season included the team's first tournament victory since 1995 when it won the Central Regional Fall Invitational. Bertram led the team with a 76.5 stroke average. Meeske averaged 77.4 shots a round, Helms had a 79.4 average and George and Mann both ended the fall season with a 79.8 average.
