Jason Bertram Leads Men's Golf At The Missouri Western Invitational

The Bulldog men's golf team competed in the fourth MIAA scoring event of the season on Monday and Tuesday at the Missouri Western Invitational in St. Joseph, Mo. The team finished seventh overall and fourth among the conference schools, tying for its best MIAA finish of the year.

Jason Bertram (Manchester, Mo./Parkway South) led the team and tied for sixth overall. He shot a two-round score of 145, including a 72 on Tuesday, tying the second-best round posted on the day.

Jesse Helms (Hillsboro, Mo./Hillsboro) had another second-place team finish, coming in tied for 21st overall with a 151. Jake Mann (Monmouth, Ill./Monmouth) and Brett Meeske (Moline, Ill./Moline) both tied for 42nd with scores of 156. Austin George (Wichita, Kan./Andover) rounded out the squad by tying for 57th place with a 163.

Truman has just one more MIAA scoring event left on the season, which is the MIAA Tournament in Lawrence, Kan. on April 20-21. The team will compete next in the Central Regional Invitational on April 12-13 in Leawood, Kan. The Bulldogs won the Central Fall Regional tournament early this season.
