Men's Golf Finishes Tied for Sixth at CMSU Heart of America Classic
The Truman State University men's golf squad tied for sixth out of 13 teams on Saturday and Sunday at the Central Missouri State University Heart of America Classic. The 'Dogs finished with a score of 630 (317-313) on the par 71, 6,029-yard Keth Memorial Golf Course.
Senior Jasen Matyas (Hannibal, Mo.) led the Bulldogs with a score of 153 to tie for eighth among individuals. Matyas carded a 78 in the opening round and finished up with a 75.
Also for Truman, junior Rick Ewing (Warson Woods, Mo./Webster Groves) finished tied for 25th with a 161 (81-80). Sophomore T.J. Erhart (Jefferson City, Mo.) had a 163 (80-83) and junior Lou Dersch (Charles City, Iowa) tallied a 163 (78-85) as well. Senior Justin Brewer (Rochester Hills, Mich.) had a 75 in the second round, but was disqualified from the first round.
Central Missouri State won the tournament by 10 strokes over second-place Indian Hills (Iowa), 606-616.
The 'Dogs are back in action today and Tuesday at the Missouri Baptist Invitational.
