Men's Golf Ninth at First Spring MIAA Designated Event
The Bulldog men's golf team placed ninth out of 15 teams on Monday and Tuesday at the 32nd annual Missouri Southern Crossroads of America Invitational. Truman finished with a two-day total of 627 (308-319) in the tournament, which was held at the Peoria Ridge Golf Course in Miami, Okla.
Leading the way for Truman was senior Justin Brewer (Rochester Hills, Mich./Rochester), who tied for 19th with a 151 (75-76). Sophomore T.J. Erhart (Jefferson City, Mo.) carded a 157 (76-81).
Also for the Bulldogs, senior Jasen Matyas (Hannibal, Mo.) charted a 160 (81-79) and junior Rick Ewing (Warson Woods, Mo./Webster Groves) had a 162 (79-83). Junior Lou Dersch (Charles City, Iowa) finished with 163 (78-85).
Central Missouri won the tournament, which marked the first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association designated event of the spring. Truman was fifth among MIAA schools and earned four points in the conference race. The 'Dogs are currently sixth in the league standings.
Up next, Truman will compete in Leawood, Kan. on Monday and Tuesday at the District V Invitational.
