Truman: The Bulldogs earned a win and a tie in a pair of matches over Homecoming weekend. Truman spanked Missouri Southern State College 6-0 on Saturday and deadlocked 1-1 with the University of Missouri-Rolla on Sunday.

Six different 'Dogs accounted for the scores against MSSC, including the 15th tally of the season by Matt Byers (Moville, Iowa/Woodbury Central), who also dished out a pair of assists. Truman's other goal scorers were senior Ryan Swan (Perth, Scotland/Kemper Military J.C.), juniors Charlie McDaniel (Olathe, Kan./Olathe North), Justin Shew (Webster Groves, Mo./Webster Groves), and Michael Roth (St. Charles, Mo./Desmet), and freshman Ricky Vigil (St. Louis/St. Louis University High). Junior netminder David Wiebenga (Raytown, Mo./Raytown South) made three saves to earn his first shutout of the season.

Sunday's encounter with UMR was a wild one that saw 13 cards issued and four ejections. The game remained scoreless until the 70th minute when Bulldog senior Heine Andersen (Helsingor, Denmark) hammered in the rebound of Roth's header attempt. The goal was Andersen's first of 2000. The Miners struck back in the 83rd minute with Spencer Knowlan's tap-in of a brilliant bicycle pass from Hass Jassim. The teams launched 14 shots through two overtimes but neither was able to net the golden goal. Truman is now 8-5-2 with four games remaining. McDaniel and senior sweeper Mike Enright (Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf) will not be available for Friday's game due to their ejections in the UMR match.

Series Record and Recap: Truman earned victories against each of this weekend's opponents in 1999. The 'Dogs won at St. Joseph's 3-1 to improve to 3-0 against the Pumas, and shutout the Greyhounds 3-0 in Indianapolis in the first meeting between the two programs.

The Polls: Truman slides two notches down the National Soccer Coaches of America/Adidas national Division II poll to No. 15 but maintain a grip on the coveted No. 2 ranking in the Central Region.

The Dish on SJC: The Pumas are 7-8-1 after Sunday's loss at Indianapolis. Senior midfielder TJ Ward leads the team with six goals and 14 points. Freshman 'keeper Matt Meier has allowed 28 goals and made 91 saves over 14 contests.

The Dish on Indy: The Greyhounds improved to 8-7 with the 3-1 win over St. Joseph's. Junior forward Danilo Moreira paces the offense with 18 goals and 37 points. Freshman goalie Gabe Hall has surrendered 11 goals in 10 games while making 41 saves.
