Truman Men's Soccer Open Season with Comeback Victory

box score

The Men's Soccer team went through a little adversity on their way to winning its first game of the season. The game was originally scheduled for Kirksville but poor field conditions due to the weather forced the game vs. Indianapolis (Ind.) to be played at Kansas City's Rockhurst University fieldturf facility.

After falling behind 1-0 early in the second period, junior Nate Gaudreault (GOODß-ROW) equaled the game on a pass by junior Martin Clayes. Truman took the lead moments later when Clayes scored on an assist by sophomore Wes Frevert. Junior Chad Baldwin added an insurance goal with senior Brenton Freemen assisting.

The Bulldogs have now won 26 consecutive regular season matches. Truman will compete in the annual Soccer Bowl tournament against Southern Indiana on Sept. 4 at 5:00 p.m. and host Quincy (Ill.) on Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
