Bulldogs Men's Soccer Wins Third Straight

A evenly matched contest was decided on a Truman breakaway. Paul Link found Martin Clayes with a pass which had Clayes going one-on-one with the Ashland keeper. Clayes buried the shot from 10-yard outs in the 69th minute for the game's only goal as the Bulldogs defeated Ashland by a 1-0 score.

Truman was narrowly outshot in the game 15-13 and by a 3-2 margin on shots on goals. Nate Gibson, though, turned away all three Ashland shots as he earned his third shutout victory of the year.

Clayes' goal was his fourth onf the season and he now leads Truman with 12 points on the year. Link recorded his first assist and is just one point behind Clayes.

The Bulldogs have now won three straight and are unbeaten in their last four matches. The team will conclude a three-game road trip on Wednesday with a road battle at Missouri-St. Louis.
