Bulldog Men's Soccer Take Control Early, Beats Benedictine 3-0

Truman Men's Soccer team chalked up a win for the first time since Sept. 4th as they defeated Benedictine (Kan.) by a 3-0 score.

Junior Paul Link (Prairie Village, Kan./Rockhurst) scored two first-half goals to inginte the offense. His first goal at the 15:35 mark was assisted by junior Martin Clayes (Perth, Scotland/St. Columbus). The second goal, Link's fourth of the season was assisted by junior Mike Boyle(St. Louis/CBC).

In the second-half, Nate Gaudreault (Granite City, Ill./Granite City) scored to give the Bulldogs a commanding 3-0 lead. It was Gaudreault's third goal of the season as it was assisted by senior Luke Bolar (Marshalltown, Iowa/Marshalltown).

Sophomore goalkeeper Nate Gibson (Edwardsville, Ill./Edwardsville) recorded his second shutout on the season for the win. Gibson has played and started in every game for the Bulldogs in 2004.

Truman improves to 3-2-1 on the season, while Benedictine falls to 1-5-1. The Bulldogs will action next weekend as they again go on the road for a pair of regional games. Truman will play at Gannon (Pa.) on Saturday and Ashland (Ohio) on Sunday.
