box score

The Truman men's soccer team improved to 10-3-3 with a regional win against St. Joseph's (Ind.) on Saturday afternoon in Kansas City, Mo. The Bulldogs got on the scoreboard early with a goal from freshman Drew Vogt (St. Peter's Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South) fifteen minutes into the game. Vogt's goal, his fourth of the season was assisted by junior Chad Baldwin (St. Peter's Mo./Ft. Zumwalt South).

In the second half, Truman scored three goals, the first on a penalty kick by junior Martin Clayes (Perth, Scotland/St. Columbus). Junior Nate Gaudreault (Granite City, Ill/Granite City) then scored off a pass from junior Geoff Brengle (Arnold, Mo./Fox) to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead. That duo hooked up again just three minutes later, this time Gaudreault setting up Brengle for the tally.

Sophomore goalkeeper Nate Gibson (Edwardsville, Ill/Edwardsville) saw and stopped the only shot he saw in the contest for his eight shutout of the season.

The Bulldogs will face Division I Drury (Mo.) in Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.
