Truman Remains In Top 10 In Sears Directors' Cup Standings
Truman State University slipped to ninth in the latest Sears Directors' Cup NCAA Division II standings. The updated poll, from May 20, includes the following men's and women's sports that have recently been completed: women's golf, women's tennis and men's tennis.
The women's tennis team is the latest team to score for Truman, earning 20 points after its NCAA Division II Regional appearance earlier this month.
The Bulldogs have compiled 220 points and rank in a ninth-place tie with Lynn (Fla.) College on the current list.
Abilene Christian (Texas), with a total of 330 points, currently leads the race for the Director's Cup. Adams State (Colo.), the leader in the previous standings, slipped to second with 310 points. North Dakota, California-Davis and North Dakota State round out the top five. Western State (Colo.), South Dakota, Drury (Mo.), Lynn and Truman complete the top 10.
Of Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association schools, Truman ranks the highest. Northwest Missouri State, which won the 1998 NCAA Division II football championship, stands in a tie for 20th. Other MIAA representatives in the top 50 include Emporia State (Kan.), tied for 33rd and Central Missouri State, tied for 47th.
The final standings and the winner of the Sears Directors' Cup will be announced on Tuesday, June 15.
