Stephanie Cepicky Named MIAA Hitter of the Week

Cepicky, a 5-foot-5 sophomore from St. Louis, Mo., batted .455 (15-of-33) and has hit safely in 10 straight games as the Bulldogs posted a 6-4 record at the Rebel Spring Games in Kissimmee, Fla, last week.

She had multiple hits in four games, including both games Truman won on March 10. Cepicky was 2-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in a 3-1 win over Southwest (Minn.) State.

Cepicky was 3-for-4 with a stolen base, two runs scored and a run batted in as Truman downed Adelphi (N.Y.), 10-2. The Bulldogs were down, 2-0, to the Panthers through two-and-a-half innings, before scoring seven in the bottom of the third.

She scored the only run of the game in Truman's 1-0 win over Northern Kentucky on Wednesday (March 12). She was 2-for-3 against the Lady Norse, and broke a scoreless tie in the sixth by scoring from second on Elizabeth Economon's single.

Cepicky was 2-for-3 with a stolen base, a sacrifice bunt, and an RBI in a 5-4 win over Tiffin (Ohio) on Thursday (March 13). She drove in the tying run with a single in the top of the sixth.

For the week, Cepicky was 6-of-6 stealing bases, scored seven runs and drove in two.
