Bulldog Swimming Downs Missouri-Rolla, Nebraska-Omaha, and South Dakota
The Bulldog men's and women's swim teams swept their double-dual meets against Missouri-Rolla, Nebraska-Omaha, and South Dakota on Saturday night at Pershing Natatorium. The Truman women won 12 out of 16 events, and the Bulldog men won 11 out of 16.
On the women's side, the 200-yard medley relay of junior Krista Pray (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North), sophomore Michaela Osborn (Tipton, Iowa/Tipton), sophomore Christina Blose (St. Charles, Mo./Francis Howell North), and senior Sara Hatcher (Kingdom City, Mo./North Callaway) met the NCAA automatic qualifying mark with their time of 1:47.95. That time also set a new pool record. The women had several B-cuts as well.
The Bulldog men also swam some impressive times. Senior Matt Pray (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) picked up his automatic qualifying time in the 100-yard butterfly with a 50.74, which was also a new pool record. Pray achieved a B-cut in the 200-yard butterfly, winning that event in a 1:55.52. Junior Robby Cooper (Holden, Mo./Holden) picked up a B-cut in the 1,650-yard freestyle, winning that event with a time of 16:36.16. Freshman Josh Otis (Johnston, Iowa/Dowling) achieved a provisional qualifying time in the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:56.58.
