Swimmers Make Waves at Thousand Hills State Park

The Truman State men's and women's swim teams participated in a three-mile lake swim at Thousand Hills State Park this past weekend to help raise money for their programs. The swimmers often participate in one or two lake swims during the fall, but this year was the first time they completed a three-mile swim-a-thon to help raise money for their training trip.

They raised over $4,000 which will help out immensely with their trip costs this December. Their goal was $6,000, which could still be reached with donations coming in daily. To help add extra incentive for the swimmers to raise money, assistant coach Joe Fanthorp has promised to shave his head if the goal amount is raised.

Both teams kick off their season with an intrasquad meet on October 22.
