Truman Women Beat Fifth Division I Swim Team this Season

The Truman women swimmers knocked off their fifth Division I opponent this season in beating Southwest Missouri State 136-101 on Saturday.

The women improve to 6-1 in dual meets this year, including three first-place finishes, losing only to Division I Florida State in a close one.

The Bulldogs took first-place in nine of 13 events at the SWMS meet. Two of the losses were in the one and three meter diving events of which Truman does not sponsor.

Sophomore Kelli Dudley (Topeka, Kan/West) turned in her best time of the year for the 'Dogs in the 100-yard backstroke with another NCAA automatic qualifying time of :59.08. She also turned in a time of 2:09.02 in the 200-yard individual medley, another A cut, but had already qualified with a time of 2:08.51.

On the men's side, the Bulldogs lost 147-92, beating SWMS in three events. the Truman men are now 2-5 in duals with two first-place finishes for the year.
