Truman Men's Tennis Season Comes To A Close
As 'Dogs Fall In Midwest Regional

 

The fourth-seeded Truman State University men's tennis team fell 5-0 to Drury today in the semifinal of the NCAA Division II Men's Midwest Regional at Springfield, Mo.

With the loss, the Bulldog men end the season with a 13-9 overall record.

In doubles action, the Truman men suffered two close losses to the top-seeded Panthers. At No. 1 doubles, the Bulldog squad of freshman Justin Menolascino (Manchester, Mo./Chaminade) and sophomore Erich Podzinski (Evergreen, Colo.) fell by an 8-5 count, while the No. 2 team of juniors Nathan Artz (Kansas City, Mo./North Kansas City) and Allan Atkins (Hannibal, Mo.) were defeated 8-6.

Drury went on to post victories at Nos. 1 and 6 singles. The remaining four singles matches were suspended.
