Truman Women's Tennis Signs A Player For The 2004-05 Season

Truman women's tennis coach Pete Kendall announced today that Whitney Hamilton (Topeka, Kan./Washburn Rural) has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Bulldogs next season.

"Whitney has a strong playing background in both high school and in USTA play," said Kendall. "She plays well in both singles and doubles action and I anticipate her to be in the lineup right away for us."

Hamilton is currently ranked 12th in the Missouri Valley Section in 18-under singles by the USTA. This past season, she won the regional singles championship in high school and finished seventh in the state singles competition. As a junior, she won the regional doubles title and was third in state. In 2002, the left-hander finished third in region and seventh at state in doubles play.

Whitney is the daughter of Scott and Mary Hamilton.
