Bulldogs Open Season With Conference Double's Tournament
Truman tennis team's swung into action on Saturday at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association Double's Tournament in St. Joseph's Mo.
On the men's side, the Bulldog number one double's team of junior Tyler Wood and sophomore Ryan Cope went 3-1 on the day with the only defeat coming at the hands of Southwest Baptist (Mo.).
The number two team of juniors Brad Martin and Sean Cooper had a 1-3 mark, the same with number three duo of senior Steve Jones and freshman Cody Pusateri.
The Truman women's team had good success from number one squad seniors Melissa Dudak and abby Souders going 3-2 at the meet. Freshmen Jennifer Salmon and Whitney Hamilton made an impressive debut for the Bulldogs going 4-1 losing only to a team from Southwest Baptist.
This weekend, the men's team host the Truman Invitational, a singles tournament featuring conference school, Northwest Missouri, NCAA Division I Western Illinois and NAIA Lindenwood (Mo.). Matches start at the Truman Tennis Courts at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 10th.
