Both Tennis Teams Sweep Dual Matches At William Jewell

Both Truman tennis team's picked up their third dual match victory of the year on Tuesday by sweeping William Jewell College in Kansas City. The Men's team won by a 7-2 match score, while the women had to rally for a 6-3 victory.
The Bulldog men took two of three doubles matches en route to the win. The doubles teams of juniors Brad Martin (Leawood, Kan./Rockhurst) and Sean Cooper (Springfield, Mo./Parkview) and senior Steve Jones (St. Louis, Mo./Oakville) and freshman Cody Pusateri (Springfield, Mo./Glendale) picked up the doubles victories to give Truman a 2-1 lead heading into the singles matches.
On the Women's side, Truman came back from a 2-1 deficit after doubles play for the 6-3 win. Five of six Bulldogs picked up victories in their singles matches including senior Abby Souders (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount), junior Kristine Grajo (Ballwin, Mo./Marquette), sophomore Hannah Wittmer (Topeka, Kan./Washburn Rural) and freshmen Whitney Hamilton (Topeka, Kan./Washburn Rural and Jennifer Salmon (Cameron, Mo./Cameron)
Both teams will next play in doubles-only competition. The men will participate at the Western Illinois Doubles Tournament this weekend, while the women will travel to Macomb, Ill. for the same tournament the following weekend.
