Truman Women's Tennis Team Ranked Fourth in Region

The Truman State University women's tennis team moved up two spots to a fourth place ranking in the North Central Region in the poll released last week.

The Bulldog women are currently 7-1 on the year and are closing in on the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association portion of their schedule. The 'Dogs are the highest ranked MIAA school in the North Central Region, although Washburn (Kan.), Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Southern are Nos. 5-7, respectively.

Individually, the Truman women have one individual and one doubles team ranked among the top in the region. Junior Allison Schuller (West Peoria, Ill./Manual), the Bulldogs' No. 1 singles player, is ranked No. 9 on the singles chart, while the No. 1 doubles team of senior Jessica McKinney (Belleville, Ill./Belleville West) and freshman Melissa Dudak (Chicago, Ill./Nazareth Academy) is also ninth.

On the men's side, the Bulldog team doesn't appear in the North Central Region's top 10, however, senior Erich Podzinski (Evergreen, Colo.), the No. 1 singles player for the Truman men, comes in at No. 15 listing of the region's top singles performers.

Both Truman tennis teams host Graceland (Iowa) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The men are scheduled to come back on Thursday for a 4 p.m. matchup with Westminster.
