Truman Women Finish Second in MIAA

The Truman women's tennis team finished the regular season this past weekend, placing second at the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association tournament. Northwest Missouri State University won the tournament, while Washburn followed Truman. Missouri Southern and Emporia State finished fourth and fifth, respectively, and Missouri Western and Southwest Baptist tied for sixth-place.

Junior Jessica McKinney at No. 5 singles and senior Lindsay Daniels at No. 6 singles were the top finishers for Truman, both winning the conference championship. Sophomores Adri Atwell and Meghan Konrad both placed third in the No. 3 and No. 4 slots, respectively. Senior Olesya Paramonova and sophomore Allison Schuller, in the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, finished fourth.

The No. 3 doubles contingent of Atwell and Konrad won the conference, while Paramonova paired with McKinney and Schuller with Daniels finished fourth.

Senior Olesya Paramonova received the MIAA Sportsmanship Award, which is voted on by players and coaches. Lindsay Daniels, Jessica McKinney, Adri Atwell, and Meghan Konrad all were named all-MIAA after posting top three finishes in their flight.

The women's team finished the regular season with an overall dual record of 12-8 and an MIAA record of 3-3. Complete results for the tournament are listed below.
