Men's Track Team Takes First At Washington University (Mo.) Invitational
The Truman State University men's track & field team took first place out of 18 teams on Saturday at the Washington University (Mo.) Invitational in St. Louis. The Bulldogs scored 100 points on the day to edge out the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater by a single point.
Two Bulldogs posted provisional qualifying marks for the NCAA Division II Championships. Sophomores Andy Doering (Florissant, Mo./McCluer North) and Ben Rosario (St. Louis/University HS) turned in times of 30:57.71 and 31:09.80, respectively, for second and third place in the 10,000-meter run. Both times are provisional marks for the Division II national championships, which will be held next month in Raleigh, N.C.
First-place finishes went to Keith Aumiller (Independence, Mo./William Chrisman) in the 400-meter hurdles, Ryan Easley (Elmer, Mo./LaPlata) in the javelin and the men's 4x400-meter relay squad.
The Bulldogs will compete at the Lee Calhoun Invitational in Macomb, Ill. next Saturday (April 15).
