The individual honors keep coming in for the two Truman State volleyball seniors. Monica Marlowe and Shelby Ortwerth, first-team all-MIAA selections, were also named to the AVCA South Central All-Region team today.

She currently has 1269 assists this season, tenth-most in school history, and her assist average is the fourth-highest at Truman for a single-season. She is in the top 10 in 11 Truman career categories and recently moved into the top 25 in NCAA Division II history for career assists and assist average.

Shelby Ortwerth has team-highs of 3.83 kills and 3.71 digs in 2002. She is currently tied for eighth on the single-season kills list with 494, seventh in kills per game and tenth in digs per game. She also had 23 kill/dig double-doubles on the year, the third most at Truman for a single-season. Ortwerth, along with Jessica Sears, was named to the South Central all-tournament team last weekend.

The two seniors have led Truman to a 26-8 record and a trip to next week's NCAA Division II Volleyball Elite Eight. The Bulldogs will face the top team in the country, West Texas A&M, in the NCAA quarterfinal round on Dec. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
