No. 21 Truman Volleyball Team Knocks Off Columbia College

The Truman State University Bulldogs snapped one long winning streak and tied a school record of their own on Friday night in a 3-2 defeat of Columbia College (Mo.).

Truman (15-1), ranked 21st in the latest AVCA Division II Top 25, tied the school record for consecutive victories by notching their 14th straight win in a 15-7, 9-15, 15-3, 7-15, 15-13 decision over Columbia College, the top ranked team in NAIA. In the process, the Bulldogs snapped the Cougars 102-match winning streak.

Truman was led by junior right side hitter Jenny Glenn (Granby, Colo./Middle Park), who recorded 20 kills and 10 digs for her team-best sixth double-double of the season. Junior middle hitter Cassy Felkerson (Salem, Mo.) posted a .294 attack percentage (16 kills, 6 errors, 34 attempts) and also had nine blocks (two solo). Junior Eliza Hoerner (Augusta, Mo./Washington-University of Colorado-Colorado Springs) also hit .294 (15-5-34) and had 10 digs. Freshman Jenna Buckner (Quincy, Ill.) recorded four service aces. Sophomore Monica Marlowe (Aurora, Ill./West Aurora), last year's South Central Region Freshman of the Year, had 56 assists.

Nino Gonzalez and Endrina Sosa each had 25 kills to lead Columbia. Gonzalez also had 22 digs and a team-best .375 attack percentage (25-7-48).

The Bulldogs continue their four-match homestand on Tuesday night when they host William Woods (Mo.) in a 7 p.m. match. Truman will be playing eight of its next nine matches in Pershing Arena, including three next week.
