Bulldog Volleyball Team Announces Three Early Signees
Truman State University head volleyball coach Qi Wang has announced the signing of three players for the 2002 season.
Tiffany Graham, Amy Kreimer and Megan Remley have signed national letters-of-intent to join the Bulldog volleyball squad next season. The three, all from the state of Missouri, are the first signees of the year for Truman in the early signing period.
Graham is a 6-0 middle hitter from Holden, Mo. She was a three-time all-conference and all-district selection during her four-year high school career at Holden High School. A four-year letterman, Graham was named team MVP twice, including co-MVP honors once. She led the team in seven statistical categories this season and helped her team to three conference and two district titles. During her four years at HHS, the team posted a 93-31-9 record. Graham also plays basketball and softball at Holden.
Kreimer, a 6-0 right-side hitter, is from Blue Springs, Mo., where she helped Blue Springs High School to a third-place finish this year at the MSHSAA Class 4A Volleyball Championship. As a junior, Kreimer received all-conference and all-district accolades and was picked for the all-area team. As a sophomore, she was an honorable mention all-area choice. Kreimer played volleyball all four years in high school, and her versatility has allowed her to play some at middle hitter as well as right-side. She also participates in swimming.
Remley is a 6-1 middle/outside hitter from Kearney, Mo. She was a second-team all-district player as a sophomore in 1999, and earned first-team all-conference and all-district honors as a junior last year. This year, she helped her Kearney squad to the championship match of the district tournament. Remley also participates in basketball at KHS.
The Bulldogs are preparing for the NCAA Division II Elite Eight Women's Volleyball Championship to be held later this week at Grand Valley State (Mich.). Truman enters the final week of the volleyball season with a school-record 37-1 record, a No. 2 national ranking and a school-record 26-match winning streak. The 2001 Bulldogs, under the guidance of regional coach of the year Qi Wang, won the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association championship with a 16-0 record and were the champions of the South Central Region.
