Truman Volleyball to Travel to Grand Valley State (Mich.) for Elite Eight
The Truman State University women's volleyball team will travel to the campus of Grand Valley State University, in Allendale, Mich., for the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship tournament.
The Bulldogs (37-1) will face their first opponent, South Dakota State University, on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. (Central time). Truman already has a win over South Dakota State this season, a 3-1 decision on Sept. 1 in Florence, Ala.
With a victory in their first match, Truman would be back on the court on Friday, Nov. 30 at 6:30 p.m. (CST) for a matchup with either host Grand Valley State or Mercy (N.Y.).
The championship match is set for 6 p.m. (CST) on Saturday, Dec. 1.
Truman advanced to the Division II Elite Eight by sweeping through the South Central Regional with victories over Henderson State (Ark.) and defending South Central Region champion North Alabama. It's the Bulldogs' first ever appearance in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Other teams that have qualified for the national championship tournament include Barry (Fla.), Western State (Colo.), Lock Haven (Pa.) and California-San Diego.
