Six Bulldog Basketball Players Named To MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll

Six Bulldog basketball players were named to the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll that was released today.

On the women's side, sophomore Kelli Floyd and Emily Turnbull received the honor. Floyd led the team this year with 66 assists and averaged 5.8 points and 2.7 rebounds a game. Turnbull played in 25 games and averaged 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds and had a 1.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.

For the Truman men's team, Matt Beran, Jiri Mikl, Aaron Mueller and Jeff Nepple were named to the academic honor roll. Beran was an honorable mention all-MIAA pick and a Verizon academic second-team all-district selection this year. He avearged 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds for the season Mikl was a Verizon academic third-team all-district pick, his third Verizon academic honor for his career. He averaged 11.8 points and led the team with 49 three-pointers. Mueller averaged 6.0 points for the Bulldogs and hit 45 three's on the year. Nepple ended his Bulldog career by playing in 16 games and averaging 2.1 points.

To be named on the MIAA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, an athlete must: 1) have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better at the qualifying institution; 2) have at least two terms of attendance at the school, excluding summer sessions; 3) be a sophomore, junior or senior in athletic eligibility; 4) not be inactive due to redshirt or hardship reasons.
