A Pair Of Bulldog Juniors Receive All-Conference Honors
Annie Westhoff was named to the women's basketball all-MIAA second-team on Sunday while men's basketball player Matt Beran was named honorable mention all-MIAA.
Westhoff started the year coming off the bench but broke into the starting lineup and became the team's top scorer during the year. She averaged 15.6 points on the year and was even better in conference play with a 16.5 average. For the season, she hit 46 three-pointers and had a .359 three-point percentage. She also averaged 6.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals a game.
Westhoff scored in double-figures in the team's final 12 regular season games and had 25 or more points in four in that span. She currently ranks sixth in the MIAA in scoring, tenth in rebounding, eighth in field goal percentage (.431), tenth in free throw percentage (.720) and seventh in three-point percentage and three-pointers made (1.77).
Beran led the Bulldogs men's team with 15.2 points and 8.2 rebounds a game. He also averaged 3.2 assists and 0.8 blocks a game and shot nearly 49% from the field. In MIAA game, he averaged 16.4 points, 8.1 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
Beran scored in double-figures in 19 games and had seven double-doubles on the year. He scored over 20 points in seven games including a career-high 31 against Missouri-Rolla. Among conference leaders, Beran is currently third in rebounding and seventh in scoring, field goal percentage and blocks.
