Women's Basketball Recap
Truman 68, Missouri-Rolla 60 (OT)

With three players, including two starters, out of the game due to fouls, the Truman bench bailed out the Bulldogs as they claimed a 68-60 overtime victory to reach the win column for the first time in league play this year.

With the game tied at 57 in overtime, reserve guard Emily Turnbull hit a three-pointer with 3:37 to play to spark a 9-0 Truman run that put the Bulldogs ahead for good. Her basket was followed by a jumper by Megan Patti to make it 62-57, then Jamie Huffman scored the next three on a free throw and a lay-in after Truman got two offensive rebounds off missed free throws to push the lead out to eight with under a minute to go.

Truman (7-4, 1-2 MIAA), which trailed for most of the second half, tied the game on Kelli Floyd's basket with 45 seconds to go, then forced a jump ball to have a chance to win the game in regulation. However, Ali Long's contested shot in the lane was short to extend the contest.

Huffman led all scorers with 18 points, while Emily Markovich scored 13 off the bench before fouling out. The Lady Miners (4-8, 0-3 MIAA), who shot just 26.8 percent for the game, were led by Nicole Dierking with 16 points.

Missouri-Rolla 64, Truman 50

Missouri-Rolla outscored Truman 15-4 to start the game Wednesday, but it was the Miners' run to start the second half that put the game away as UMR picked up its first MIAA win with a 64-50 victory.

The Miners (8-4, 1-2 MIAA) did not trail in the game, but Truman did close to within two in the first half after UMR bolted out to its early lead. UMR scored seven of the final nine points of the first half to hold a 32-23 halftime advantage, then ripped off a 20-6 run -- including 13 straight in one stretch -- to open up a 23-point advantage.

UMR hit 11 of its 20 three-point attempts, with Ike Muonelo and DeAndre Johnson combining to hit nine of their 14 attempts from behind the arc. Muonelo led the Miners with a season-high 20 points, while Johnson ended up with 17.

The Bulldogs (4-8, 1-2 MIAA) were led by freshman Grant Agbo with 21 points and 10 rebounds, but he was the only Truman player to score in double figures.
