Truman-78, Missouri-Rolla-58

Truman's three seniors made their final appearance in Pershing Arena a memorable one as the trio sparked the team to a 78-58 victory over Missouri-Rolla.

The Bulldogs seniors combined for 38 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, one block and two steals. Adri Tromp did most of the offensive damage with a career-high 22 points and she also had a double-double with 10 rebounds. She was nine-of-13 from the field for the game. Emily Turnbull added eight points and also had one assist while playing a team-high 32 minutes. Lisa Miceli scored twice and had three rebounds and a career-high three assists.

Truman took the lead for good with 13:26 remaining in the first-half but the score was close for most of the opening period. An 11-3 run late in the half gave Truman a nine-point lead and the Bulldogs would end up going into the break with a 34-27 advantage.

Truman then put the game away early in the second-half, opening up with a 22-8 run over the first seven minutes of the half.

Two juniors also scored in double-figures for the Bulldogs. Sarah Sommer ended the game with 12 points and she had a game-high four steals, while Jamie Huffman came off the bench to score 11 points. Emily Markovich added nine points and seven rebounds for Truman.

Missouri-Rolla was led by Andrea Durante with 19 points. Nicole Dierking hit four three-pointers on her way to 14 points. Rebekah Judy had a team-high six rebounds for the Lady Miners.

Men's Basketball Recap
Missouri-Rolla-82, Truman-63

Missouri-Rolla overcame a slow start and earned a trip to Kansas City with an 82-63 win over Truman. The victory gives the Miners the final spot in the upcoming Sonic/MIAA Championship.

Three-point shooting and free throw shooting was the difference in the game. The Miners shot 61.1% from beyond the arc and 81.8% from the free throw line, while the Bulldogs hit just 23.5% from three-point range and 55.0% at the charity stripe. The Miners hit seven more three-pointers and 16 more free throws than Truman. Missouri-Rolla also had 11 more rebounds in the game.

The Bulldogs scored the first nine points of the game as the Miners missed their first eight field goal attempts and turned the ball over twice in the first four minutes of the game. After that, it was all Missouri-Rolla.The Miners used a 34-9 run over the next 11 1/2 minutes to grab a 16-point lead and they went into the break up 35-22.

Missouri-Rolla then opened up the second half by scoring the first nine points. Truman fought back to within 11 midway through the final period but could never get the lead into single-digits.

Truman's Matt Beran put on a show in his final game at Pershing Arena. The senior had his second consecutive double-double as he scored 24 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Grant Agbo added 13 points for Truman.

Missouri-Rolla was led by the duo of Ike Muonelo and Kerry Darting. Muonelo had 30 points in the contest, including five three-pointers and 11-of-12 shooting from the free throw line. Darting also had five makes from beyond the arc. Josh Shaw led the Miners with nine rebounds in the game.
