Tromp Joins Women's Basektball team

Head coach John Sloop announced today that Adri (pronounced Audrey) Tromp (Grand Rapids, Mich./Calvin Christian) will play for the Bulldogs women's basketball team, beginning this coming fall.

Tromp has spent the last two years at Glen Oaks Community College in Centreville, Mich., where she averaged 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game.

Tromp, a 5-9 guard/forward, was an all-conference performer and named her high school team's defensive player of the year as a senior. Calvin Christian was the conference and district champion her last three years, and was the state runnerup and regional champion her junior season.

In high school, she was a three-year varsity starter for the basketball team and was a four-year all-conference student-athlete on the soccer team as well. Tromp's soccer team advanced to the state semi-finals her senior season. She was also named all-district twice, and was all-region and all-state once in soccer.

The Truman women's team completed its second season under Sloop in 2001-02 and compiled an overall record of 14-13 and was 7-11 in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
