Women's Basketball Team Signs Floyd
Truman women's basketball coach John Sloop announced today that Kelli Floyd of Kirksville, Mo., has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Bulldogs, beginning with the 2001-02 campaign. The 5-7 point guard is a standout on the Kirksville High School team and started on two state quarterfinal teams, as a freshman and as a junior last year.
Floyd was an all-conference and all-district pick last year and is a two-time all-area selection. She has averaged 12 points a game, along with five assists and four rebounds per contest. From three-point range, Floyd has shot 42 percent. She also has a perfect 4.0 GPA.
The Truman women's basketball team begins its first season under the
guidance of Sloop. The team posted an overall record of 17-9 last year and
hosted its first Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association postseason
tournament game.
