Truman vs. Missouri Southern on Feb. 3, 2001: The Bulldogs trailed for most of the first half, but not by much as the Lady Lions largest lead came just 1:44 before the half, 28-22. Truman then went on a 7-1 run that culminated with Jennifer Perkins' bucket with one second remaining to tie the score at 29 at intermission.

Truman took the lead at 18:35 in the second stanza on a layup by Perkins. MSSC quickly answered, but a two-pointer by freshman forward/guard Annie Westhoff (Webster Groves, Mo.) next would give the 'Dogs the lead for the next eight-and-a-half minutes. At the nine-minute mark, the Missouri Southern tied the score at 47 and the two teams would fight through six lead changes and three tie scores until the Lady Lions took a two-point lead with one minute left in regulation time.

Fisher then performed the heroics for the Bulldogs, grabbing the offensive rebound and drawing the foul and hitting both free throws to tie the score at 62. That score would hold up the next 39 seconds to send the 'Dogs into their first overtime game since a 89-85 loss to Washburn on Jan. 31, 2000.

In the extra session, Gerber hit a pair of charity shots to start scoring, but the Lady Lions took a one-point lead with a trey at 3:49. Westhoff grabbed back the lead for the 'Dogs with a jumper and Fisher laid in another ball to give Truman a three-point margin over MSSC with 2:37 go to. Missouri Southern again tied the score at 68 following a free shot and a jumper, but could have enjoyed a greater lead but for a block by Fisher, her third rejection of the game.

The Lady Lions made a free throw to take a one-point lead with 16 seconds remaining in the overtime period. Gerber then brought the ball up the floor for the 'Dogs and missed a layup with three ticks left on the clock. But Fisher again saved the day with a put-back with one second left, giving Truman its first win in eight games.
