Alan Heincker and Leah Zidon Named MIAA Runners of the Week

The Truman cross country squads swept the runners of the week honors today with Alan Heincker being named male athlete of the week and Leah Zidon earning female athlete of the week honors.

Heincker finished 19th out of 321 runners at the University of Nebraska Woody Greeno Invitational last weekend. He ran the 8k course in a time of 25:53, leading the Bulldogs and helping them secure a first-place finish in the college division.

Zidon led the Truman women's squad at the MSSC World Southern Stampede. She placed 14th overall with a time of 22:36 on the 6k course. Her finish was the top among MIAA runners at the meet and it helped the Bulldogs finish fourth overall and first among the other four conference schools at the meet.

The Truman men's cross country squad, ranked 13th in the country and second in the South Central Region, will be at the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 4. The women's squad, ranked third in the South Central Region, will run next Saturday at the Miner Invitational.
