Bulldogs Women's Cross Country Squad Has Promising Showing

The Truman women's cross country team had a strong showing on Saturday at the Missouri Southern Stampede on Saturday, finishing fourth overall and first out of the five conference schools that were participating in the meet.

Southwest Missouri won the meet with 22 points, followed by Harding (77) and Abilene Christian (133). The Bulldogs recorded 146 points, just ahead of Missouri Southern, Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist.

Leah Zidon led the Bulldogs with a 14th-place overall finish. She ran the 6K course in a time of 22:36. Jennifer Tesmer finished the course in 23:28, good for 32nd place and Pam Bird was 37th overall with a time of 23:35. Dani Rawlings and Sarah Armstrong rounded out the scoring. Rawlings was 45th with a time of 23:57 while Armstrong finished in 48th place with a time of 24:06. Kasye Hahn recorded a time of 24:20 and finished in 53rd while Abbie Smith was 60th with a time of 24:42.

The Truman women's cross country team will be at the Miner Invitational next Saturday.
