Bulldogs Women's Cross Country Finishes Fifth At Border States
The Bulldogs women's cross country team finished fifth overall at the Border States Invitational last Saturday in Edwardsville, Ill., the team's final tuneup before the MIAA Championship. The squad was third among conference schools, finishing close behind Missouri Southern and Central Missouri and just ahead of Pittsburg State.
Junior Dani Rawlings (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South) led the team, finishing 13th overall with a time of 19:01. Freshman Meagan Robertson (Dittmer, Mo./Northwest) was 20th overall after completing the race in 19:18 and senior Leah Zidon (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar) was 12 seconds behind her in 26th place.
Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs was freshman Lauren White (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit) and sophomore Sarah Armstrong (Metamora, Ill./Metamora). White was 44th overall with a time of 19:59 and Armstrong was 45th with a mark of 20:00.
Truman has its most important meets coming up, starting with the conference meet on Oct. 25 in Kirksville.
