Bulldogs Women's Cross Country Finishes Third At MIAA Championship

The host Bulldogs women's cross country team finished third overall at the MIAA Conference Championship on Saturday at Kirksville Country Club. Truman bettered last year's fifth place finish and 86 points. The team averaged 23:48.16 over the hilly terrain and scored 78 points. They finished behind Missouri Southern and champion Pittsburg State.

Truman had two girls finish in the top-10 and receive all-MIAA honors. Freshman Meagan Robertson (Dittmer, Mo./Northwest) led the team, finishing 8th overall with a time of 23.19.85. Junior Dani Rawlings (Fargo, N.D./Fargo South) bettered last year's 18th place finish by running 9th overall with a time of 23.24.60. Senior Leah Zidon (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar) completed the course 21 seconds behind Rawlings and finished 15th.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bulldogs were sophomores Sarah Armstrong (Metamora, Ill./Metamora) and Abbie Smith (Urbandale, Iowa/ Dowling). Armstrong was 18th overall in 24:01.26 and Smith placed 28th with a mark of 24.29.98.

Truman continues their campaign with the NCAA South Central Regionals in Commerce, Texas on November 8th.
