Truman Women's Cross Country Wins Miner Invitational
Led by a 1-2 finish from sophomore Beth Luebbering (Jefferson City, Mo./Helias) and freshman Leah Zidon (Bondurant, Iowa/Bondurant-Farrar), the Truman State University women's cross country team captured another first-place finish on Saturday, winning the six-team Miner Invitational at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Luebbering completed the race in 22:41.5, while Zidon finished with a time of 23:07.8.
Truman scored 31 points to bring home first place, while Missouri Southern tallied 43 for second. Arkansas State University (112) was third, Principia (114) fourth, Missouri-Rolla (119) fifth and the UMR Alumni (126) sixth.
Aside from the top two finish by Luebbering and Zidon, the 'Dogs also got top 10 finishes from Brandy Leffler (Gibbs, Mo./Brashear) and Emily Komiskey (Galena, Ill./Dubuque Wahlert). Leffler was seventh with a time of 24:03.9, while Komiskey took ninth in 24:24.7.
Truman will compete again next Saturday (Oct. 9) at the All-Missouri Border States Invitational at St. Louis.
